PRESS RELEASE - 2nd Policy Dialogue of MIRRIS in Poland

Warsaw - November 5, 2014

In the frame of MIRRIS initiative, the 2nd round of Policy dialogue was held in Warsaw in cooperation with the national stakeholders.

The dialogue was hosted by MIRRIS Consortium Partner, Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP). On behalf of MIRRIS coordinator, META Group, Mrs. Anita Tregner-Mlinaric and Mr. Andrea Ferrara moderated the dialogue. In addition, on behalf of the Italian Agency for the Promotion of European Research (APRE), Mrs. Caterina Buoncore presented a case study on the Italian Delegation for the Societal Challenge 2, Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry. The case study addressed topics related to the connection and cooperation of the institutional representatives to the programme committees in between national stakeholders and NCP’s. 

During the dialogue the participants had the opportunity to analyse GAPs related to the participation of Poland to the Framework Programmes as well as good practices identified and aligned in order to identify intervention measures aiming at improving the participation.

The next step for MIRRIS Coordinator, META Group is to streamline the collected input together with present stakeholders in order finalize a portfolio of suitable tailored actions to be adapted in Poland.

About MIRRIS

MIRRIS (Mobilizing Institutional Reform for Research and Innovation Systems) is a Coordination and Support Action aiming at identifying the strengths and weaknesses of R&I performance in ERA and Framework Programmes of the EU12 and Croatia and to propose new initiatives to improve participation to Horizon 2020.
 
MIRRIS seeks to promote a high level of participation and funding within the European Research Area and Framework Programmes, by 1) understanding success factors 2) identifying key actions and 3) mobilizing key stakeholders for improving performance and better exploiting H2020 and synergies with structural funds. To achieve this goal MIRRIS will organize 3 rounds of policy dialogue in each target country, promote mutual learning and prepare a road map for implementation.
 
MIRRIS is funded under FP7 Social Sciences and Humanities programme and implemented by a consortium of 12 leading organizations in the field of research and innovation.
