PRESS RELEASE - 2nd policy dialogue of MIRRIS in Czech Republic

The 2nd MIRRIS Policy dialogue in Czech Republic took place in Prague on April 1, 2015, hosted by the Technology Centre ASCR and moderated by META. During the event successful practices by the International Funds Office at the Catholic University of Leuven were presented by the Head of the Office, Mr. Stijn Delauré.

During the very interactive dialogue, with more than 25 Czech stakeholders from Research organizations, Ministries and National Agencies, Mr. Stijn Delauré illustrated 5 success factors to make the allocation of research funds more effective and to better prepare research groups for the European competition. Participants highlighted that even if the participation of the Czech Republic to the ERA and H2020 is satisfactory, there is still the need for improvements.

MIRRIS was found a good tool to identify priorities and support the preparation of a roadmap to activate changes. In addition to the need of a strategic approach to the participation to EC R&D participants highlighted the importance of specific trainings for project coordinators as well as ERC applicants to improve participation to EU programmes.

After the 2nd Policy dialogue, MIRRIS will work alongside with Czech stakeholders to prepare the 3rd dialogue, scheduled for this autumn. The objective of the 3rd cycle will be to translate the intervention measures discussed in April into priorities and a roadmap for implementation.
